Due to new city-wide restrictions in response to Covid-19, we've postponed in person classes and are moving to virtual classes. While it is not ideal for our kiddos to be spending so much time inside and on a device, we want to make the best of a tough situation for them. That is why we will be offering a 4-week virtual session starting the week of November 2nd and running to the week of November 27th. Classes will meet twice a week for 45 minutes. We know kids are already online a lot, and a lot of them might already be participating in PE online with their coaches, but we want to offer something different for them. The virtual class we offer still focuses on empowerment and basic running skills just like our in- person class. So it is structured differently than a PE class, and kids are still learning the key principles of empowerment. We encourage kids to have fun and we do our best to really interact with them and have them interact with one another. We're not just a video they're dancing to or a few quick exercises. We maintain the core of our program so that kids are still learning and practicing growth mindset, teamwork, integrity, physical strength, getting through tough challenges, building resilience, etc. We adapt the drills and games to fit a virtual setting while still keeping the program fun and engaging. Classes are: Mondays/Wednesdays 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm ages 4-6 Tuesdays/Thursdays 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm ages 7-11 Tuesdays/Thursdays 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm ages 12-14 All athletic abilities welcome! This program can be good for beginners and just as challenging for athletes looking to stay in shape for when sports start up again. Let the kids workout while you prepare dinner!! *Classes can be made available during the day for those who are homeschooling and would like a physical component added to their school day. Classes will be held on Zoom and families will need to register their kids by the first day of class. A Zoom link will be sent upon registration. Registration is $50 for the first child and $10 for each additional child (all kids in the household can participate together).

*Postponed due to Covid Restrictions We're happy to share, we will be starting a new 8-week session soon. The weather is changing and we want to take full advantage of the beautiful El Paso fall season by enjoying Run Club outside. Our first 8-week session is currently in full swing. The kids have made new friends and learned about setting high goals, getting through challenges with power words, and running posture and pacing. They've enjoyed getting outdoors and getting a break from virtual learning. We've got a ways to go, but we're out there having fun! Our next 8-week session will begin the week of October 26th and will run until the week of December 14th, just in time for Christmas. By then, kids will have been in school for a while, gotten into the groove and will be ready for something new. Run Club can offer a new experience for kids whether they're seasoned athletes or just getting into fitness. Information for Classes
Registration is $90 per child, which includes a Run Club t-shirt. Children also have the opportunity to earn a medal at the end of the 8-week session.
*Homeschool daytime classes are available upon request as well as Mommy and Me classes for ages 2-3 years old. Please contact us to ask about these specific classes. While things will still be different than normal, it'll be good to get the kiddos outside again. New 4-week sessions will be starting July 6th and run until July 30th. PrecautionsKid Power Run Club will be taking all precautions recommended by the CDC in order to ensure the health and safety of our families.
Class LayoutClasses will be held once a week for 4 weeks at Memorial Park.
**We will also continue to have virtual classes for those who would prefer. A new 4-week session for virtual classes will also start July 6th and run until July 30th. Virtual classes are $40 per family for the 4 weeks.
While Kid Power Run Club is normally an outdoor program in El Paso, Tx, due to the current state of our country in regards to the Corona Virus and certain state and local mandates, we've gone virtual.
I think it's important for kids to continue moving their bodies. It is especially important for them to strengthen their minds. This is a confusing and scary time for a lot of kids, and I know that Kid Power Run Club can provide some of what El Paso's kids need to feel stronger and more confident. Not only will they connect live with me to learn the empowerment principles and basic running skills, but they'll get to interact with other kids their age. A lot of our little ones are really missing their friends and family. These virtual classes are a great way to connect with others while maintaining social distance. With summer on the way and virtual school ending soon, kids will continue to be home during Stay Home orders. Kid Power Run Club can be something they look forward to a couple of days a week. The first virtual classes will start June 1, 2020. They'll run 4 weeks, 2 days a week for a total of 8 classes. The second round of classes will run from July 6th, 2020 to July 31st, 2020. Classes will include:
All virtual classes will be held on Zoom. KP Run Club will take all precautionary measures, recommended by Zoom, to maintain safety and privacy for all participants. |
